I do not think it is manufacturers fault. They rely heavily on testing agencies that qualifies their product for ASTM standards, ISO, NAFS or AAMA certification before a product can be licensed and sold to the consumers. If your window is failing it is mostly likely not meeting the Performance Grade. Now most people, including sales reps confuse the terminology DP rating and PG rating. If you... Read more

I started calling the 1st winter I lived in my new home about the windows and doors fogging up between the panes. I called every year for SIX years, always the same thing, "Nothing wrong with these windows or doors"...The double patio doors have ROTTED from within so bad the wood is falling off of the doors in pieces. If it rains the water will seep through the rotted wood. FINALLY the last guy... Read more

Never had an issue with my Anderson windows, my new Infinity fiber glass windows have openings at each corner to let every bug in world into the frame. Marvin's fix was to buy an expense insecticide and spray it every month. Not fix the defect in the window. I watch the bugs just climb on in, mud wasps, bird nest wasps, ants. spiders etc. over 30 thousand dollars and can't open my windows. Now I... Read more

We did our whole house in marvin windows. our windows are getting condensation between the pains so bad that you cant see out of some of them. They went out of warranty in 1999 which at that time 2 were bad but we would have to pay someone to put the glass in. That's the most expense part. Is there something we could do to fix them. My husband is a contractor and wont show our windows to a... Read more

I replaced all my windows and sliding doors with Marvin windows/doors 4 years ago. The weather stripping needs to be replaced. I had a representative come out in October 2014. He charged me $100 (warranty didn't cover him coming out, just the cost of weathering stripping) and was suppose to order new weather stripping for doors. I have contacted them at least 30 times and someone is always... Read more

At the recommendation of our contractor chose Marvin Integrity as it supposedly is the best window he installs for customers. My research showed that Anderson is much better for the same or less cost at Home Depot. I deferred to his judgement as he would be on the hook for install, service and support. Bought three replacement windows and a french patio door. The windows look nice, compared to... Read more

We constructed a large custom home in 2000. Included were all custom Marvin Windows, and patio doors, all wood interiors, vinyl clad exterior . The set of sliding rear patio doors from our kitchen does not slide. The first time their rep came down and looked at it and said there wasNOTHING HE COULD DO! Seriously! Do you know what these doors cost. A year later, we were having some work done and... Read more

These were $800+each and these high end windows all have problems of never sealing out the cold or wind. They performed like $150.00 discount windows we originally had. After spending 35K to have every window in the house replacement with new construction models I should have kept the cheap windows. All bottom gasket jambs leak air as well as midpoint gaskets. Entire window was replaced due to... Read more
